Does ANYONE use one??? What exactly does it claim to do and how do you use one????

I've been wondering the same thing. I know some ladies use them, and I don't know what they're for or what type of hair they would most benefit.

What I do know is that unlike the blow dryer which uses a direct stream of hot air to essentially boil the water from the hair cuticle (if it is a metal blow dryer), a diffuser allows the air to hit the hair cuticle indirectly - or in other words from a couple of different directions. So it's not one stream of air, but a bunch of smaller tiny streams of air.

I use it to speed up drying time for my hair. As MsNadi mentioned, the diffuser attachment diffuses the air and minimizes the force and pressure the air comes out of the dryer. It also "spreads" out the air so that it is not directly flowing in one direction. It's mainly targeted for use on textured hair. It allows you to dry textured hair without disturbing the curl/wave pattern by diffusing the hot air gently.

Do you find that it helps define your curl pattern any more?

Lemme quit beatin around the bush: I love your curls and have a similar hair texture...but in the back there are areas where as my hair dries I lose the curl pattern. Have you find that the diffuser helps with this? Or have you found a product that works well in helping form and maintain the curl pattern?

It doesn't "create" the curl, but helps maintain your natural curl. If I use a gel, pudding, styling foam, or a good leave in, I can get more definition that if I didn't. Using a diffuser can help "freeze" those curls by allowing the hair to dry faster without frizzing or swelling up as much as if allowed to air dry. The diffuser will not give any additonal texture your hair does not already have.
