I believe that a reconstructor is a heavy-duty protein conditioner to be used to combat serious shedding and/or breakage (Like Aphogee or Nexxus Emergencee). The milder protein conditioners (like Nexxus Keraphis or Aubrey Organic's GPB)and to be used periodically, in rotation with moisturizing conditioners, to maintain the strength of the hair strands. Hope this helps.
