Diet and Hair....would foods are good and bad?

I was just wondering.....
What foods do you eat to help your hair grow? What foods/drinks do you avoid?
 
fresh mackeral or sardines, raw fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds and nuts are all good for hair growth.
sugar, caffeine, fried foods, bleached flours are bad for your hair and body.
 
It seems hard to eat all the foods that would help, so vitamins supplement. What quantities do you eat these foods?
 
as much as i HATE to admit it...caffeine is a no go when it comes to my hair!! i gave it up for the new year and already i've had about 3 inches grow in!!! it's like the caffeine retarded my hair growth!!

it started out as an experiment. i decided to give it up as a test...WHO KNEW!? i surely didn't.

and of course WATER is GREAT for the hair!! :yep:

that was my trade off...caffeine for water!! best hair decision i've made in a long time!! that and switching to lye!! :yep:

with the kind of job that I have...I could easily go through a pot of coffee by myself!!! This sounds like a good move. I won't wait til J-06. I'll start on the H2O now!!! Thanks.

I agree. I used to drink 2 diet cokes a day. My hair grew half as much then as it does now. Now when I get the urge to drink a diet coke, I drink some water or some caffeine free tea. Sometimes it suppresses my cravings, sometimes it doesn't, but my hair growth has definitely picked up since I stopped drinking cokes. :)
 
One way to learn is to look at what people eat in countries where most of the females have beautiful, healthy, long hair. This is the hair we buy for weaves. They eat daily:

Fruits and vegetables (especially green vegetables)
Whole grains (mainly unrefined rice)
Nuts
Sea vegetables (seaweed, kelp, kombu, etc.)
Good, organic soy products (tofu, tempeh)
Eggs
Fish from the sea (mackerel, salmon, sardines, tuna)
Green tea
Water


Avoid:
diet sodas and diet foods, sugar, caffeine, white bleached rice & flour, fried foods (as mentioned).
