as far as the dresses, shoes, etc.?

I'm hearing so many different things from different people. As long as the color is correct and everybody agrees on it, I think it's fine for the bridesmaids to have a say in what they wear so that everyone will feel comfortable and feel like they look good.

It really depends on what kind of wedding it is. My wedding was a super relaxed, destination beach event. With my bridesmaids and maid of honor, the only requirement I gave was the same style of dress and in the same color family since they were all different skin tones. And since it was the beach, I didn’t even really care what shoes they wore.
It was most important to me that they were comfortable, we looked like we belonged at the same event and that they would be able to wear the dress again if they wanted.

Yep. Sounds good to me. I know it's my day, but I wouldn't force them to wear something they hate.

My girls are wearing the same dress, but different colors since I am doing the peacock/jewel tone theme.

I don't think that's being a dictator bride

We all agreed on the style, but everyone picked their own colors as long as they were within the theme. Undecided on jewelry yet, but I'm thinking that just bracelets and earrings will be good due to the style of the dress.

I picked the dress because I had a specific color/theme and picked a dress that was flattering on different body types. I also paid for their makeup. They wore their own scrappy silver sandals, wore their own jewelry and did their hair however they wanted

I picked the dress designer, fabric, and color color. Each girl picked their dress style. My only requirement was no 2 girls could have the same dress.

I didn't care. I told them the wedding colors. Everything else they picked on their own. But I only had one matron of honor and one bridesmaid. It looked fine in the pics to me. But again, I'm very low-key

Yes. I chose flattering cuts for them. I asked that they not wear hard curls, patent leather sandals, wedges and boldly colored nail polish

i'm very anti looking completely uniform as far as hair goes-we are not about to be looking like a 90's wedding with those stiff updos

I actually didn’t make one. I’m pretty much low key like Janet and Beyonce. Lol but yes, I will be having a wedding and getting married this fall here in downtown Dallas.
