Did we? Give up on Surge?

I still use Surge 14 mixed with Sulfur 8 Braid spray (equal parts) every night after my co-wash. I can't say that I've noticed above normal growth but I've noticed that I get less curl definition when I skip using it as part of my regimine.

I HATE the Woojee cream for my hair. I have tried using it as a leave in conditioner on four different occaisions - Each time I tried this it seemed there were more hairs than usual in my brush. I then tried to use it on my ends before wrapping with a baggie, when I took the baggie off the next day, I would see a few little broken hairs. (I rarely see any using mango butter.) Honestly, I'm afraid to put it on my hair anymore so I use it as a body lotion.

Lotion Motion #9 - it's a'ight. I'm finding that my hair doesn't like too much oil and this blend is VERY heavy. A little goes a long way. I add a bit to my Mane N Tail conditioner for my co-wash.

I have. I got tired of scalp flaking (led to build up) and irritation. I even mixed it with other stuff. For me, I didn't see any benefits for the hassle.

I am still using surge and I've even converted two other people to using it. The issues that I ran into were

a) flaking in certain spots - fixed this by using an oil with the surge at the spot and
b) white buildup on my hair after spraying it on cornrow braids that I had in for 4 weeks - I think I shampood each section of hair 4-5 times to get it all out.

I don't think I am ever using surge with braids again because even though I shampood the cornows each week, I ended up with so much buildup. Maybe I should have diluted the surge with lots of water.

Personally, Surge makes me nervous. It goes along fine for a while then out of the blue, irritation. I didn't mix it with anything though...if I decide to finish off my last bottle, I will have to mix it with castor oil or something because, I don't want know trouble. No peeling, no pain , no burning....yah...it scares me when it comes to my scalp...I may just use it on the length of my hair, cause my hair likes it...go figure.....Bonjour

Good question JG! Actually I stopped using it a few months ago. It worked fine for me the first month, then my scalp started peeling. I recently started back this time using the so called "new improved" formula. I'm also putting WGO on my scalp first before spraying which seems to be working well. Before, I didn't do that. I just mixed in some olive oil in with the Surge. We'll see how this new method works after a month.

Oh, and the ONLY reason I decided to try it again is because of this crown area I'm trying to grow out. When I texturized that part still looked more natural. Didn't get straight at all, but the Surge smooths the new growth out a lot. It actually changes the texture of my hair. I kid you not, that part is actually almost as straight as the rest of my hair. You really can't tell the difference. I haven't been using it all over my hair either, just the troubled spots. Another thing is I figure if the Surge works longer for me this time, it will be good to switch back and forth with MTG. I'll use the Surge for a couple of months, then the MTG for a couple of months because my hair seems to become immune to stuff after a few months and the products stop working.
Or maybe U just need to give u'r self a gooooooood clarifying shampoo to rid all the built-up. Didn't think of that did ya :) Try it once a month at least and u should get better results from u'r products.

ive used it and still use it and it works great on my hair....ive had growth and its great for your ends thicking the hair strands..i think it does....:-) i jus got anotha bottle...yay...happy growing ladies

I think surge is still good, I don't use it a whole lot for growth, Now I use it mostly for hair strength. I used it a couple of months ago when I had cornrows. Daily I was spraying my hair with surge in combination with a really nice grease that I found. I received a substantial amount of growth in a short period of time! So I find that if your consistant with it, it works well.

I've experimented with MTG (stinky oil) and Lenzi's Request (no effect on growth, but softens hair tremendously).

I'm back to Surge Plus 14 spray. I'm using the original formula and mixing with Dr. Miracle gro oil (peppermint) and Sta-Sof-Fro to combat dryness. I'll try the new formula when I've exhausted my current supply. The scalp tingling is tremendous, and it still gives me that good ole' growth itch.

I honestly believe that the mucopolysaccharide concentration in the spray is higher than in the other products (Ultra Max, olive oil, and shea butter). Here's the clue. Surge Plus 14 is the only product that has the 14 day challenge: "Within 14 days of using Plus 14, you should notice a significant difference in the texture and appearance of your locks."

I stopped using it because it was hard to find in my neighborhood and I didn't feel like having to order online all the time. But it was ok, it kept my hair moisturized during my transition. I can't say I noticed as much growth as other ladies were getting though.

Since only one store sells it within 20 minutes from my house, my bottle was 6.99 so I am using it until it's all gone. :ohwell: I use it some days by it's self and others I mix it with some natural ingredients + MTG. I've noticed growth and a change in my new growth texture.

I will probably be taking a trip somewhere in Atlanta for a few $2 bottles. :)

I still use it. I started having an affair with the MTG so I'm juggling both right now. I can't be tied down.
