Did Commercial Full Of Naturals?

there is a new mastercard commercial with four naturals, my mouth dropped open. I have been noticing a trend in commercials lately that black women who are relaxed and natural, I've been seening TWAs, low puffs, high puffs, 3A-4B and everything in between.

I know people are thinking WTF? but it wasn't long ago that black commercials were a dime a dozen, pretty much still are but they are becoming more diverse in what they show now. It's no longer ghetto arse chicken and watermelon commercials (MCDONALDS). There are of course the trifling arse commercials still. But I think the marketing trend has moved towards just doing a commercial showing people as opposed to stereotypical bullsmit.

Ok i'm off the soapbox now, I just wanted to share.

I've been noticing alot more commercials with natural heads lately. I like this trend.

It's nice to see "the 'natural' look" as well, but I'm curious to know:

1. If I'm really seeing naturals or am I seeing natural hairstyles and, should that even matter?

2. Is this just another signal/blip of the "natural" hair trend and it's just the style of the moment?

I don't think it matters really. There are so many healthy natural heads of hair out here and that is what TV/Media/Hollywood wants.

I don't think they see as many heathly relaxed heads that aren't weaved up. Not that weaves are bad, cause we all know they are DEEP in Hollywood, Fashion, etc. But so many of our ladies depend on them to look good. Take off the weaves and wigs and there is nothing to work with under there.

They don't have that problem with the natural heads.

Now, when all of our beautiful relaxed LHCF'ers step out and start being noticed, there may be more relaxed ladies WITHOUT weaves representing. (so I hope )

I never cared what our hair looked like on tv, but I cared about them only showing light-skinned blacks. I used to think, 'we come in so many beautiful shades of brown why in the world do they always show this same one?' I'm happy that's changing.

I saw that mastercard commerical...my mouth dropped as well...I didn't start noticing naturals on tv until I went natural.

And about your questions RelaxerRehab, I don't think it matters either. People who do commercials and other things on tv pick and choose who they want to show.

I been seeing a lot more naturals every where.
Before if you saw a woman natural it would be days before you would see another natural now I see them all the time.
