I believe her. What's not to believe. If the average growth rate is 0.5 inch per month ... you'd be around 12 inches in two years ... that's about APL on most people, no? Totally possible.

I think I see this type of progress on hair boards all the time.

What I don't believe is how old she's looking in the 2nd and 3rd picture of her afro. :look: Ah well, she's cute regardless. :lol:
 
Seriously?! It doesn't even look like a wig at all to me!

I think the growth is about right for the time alloted. :yep:
 
Clearly they know nothing about shrinkage, the nature of textured hair or growth. My hair looked like that 6 months post BC; I'm sure her fro isn't even all the way blown out in the current pic.

I ride for Solange....such a creative spirit. Why are they always messing with her? smh
 
^^^ They cant fathom the idea that a young black woman in hollywood wants to wear her hair natural AND is proud of it.
 
I was expecting to see a massive afro LOL but her length makes sense given that she BC'd 2 years ago or thereabout
 
Oh I definitely believe it. If I went from neck length to mid-back length in 2 years I'm sure she can achieve that assume afro.

My hair was maybe and inch or two longer then hers when she BCed. And now my hair is BSL..it has been 2 years & 2mths. My afro is probably 2x the size of hers(although im not natural anymore).

I remember watching Chris rocks hair movie, and this lady had been going to a white man to do her hair.. the reason i mention white is because they were making a big point to make sure you knew he was white, but anyway she had been going to him and she claimed that her hair was past her shoulders and 4 years later it was just BSL..and she kept repeating "And its all mines" and Chris Rock was amazed too.. Im like>>:ohwell::perplexed:yawn:
I know there are slow growers out there but they were making it seem as if she achieved the impossible:look:

I wish some black folks would stop acting as if we cant have hair past our shoulders!
 
Uhhh..they said foot-long fro. Doesn't that mean 12 inches WITH the shrinkage? :look: And then there's that other picture of her that was this fall. Looks like a lot of growth in ~6 months.

I dunno. Maybe I'm understanding something wrong.
 
Of course it's believeable, in two years, of course :yep:

The pic of the coils taken in the Fall, just shows a style in which her hair is shrunken.

Her fro pics look a little blown out, which shows a drastic difference in length.

If that's a blowout, it's def doable. Her first year, she did keep her hair short though. I wouldn't say that they don't know anything about hair though, possibly not much about the power of shrinkage though.
 
I believe her. I've always been a fan of her music, her style, and her hair...even when she wore the funky braids and Diana Ross weaves. I remember when LHCF ladies went hard on her after her BC...saying her hair was thin, etc.
 
they did the same thing to oprah. as much as the scalp their posts from threads on BHM you'd think that they would read the hair sections there and learn something.
 
It is possible that her hair grew that length over 2 years however the picture that they show "from this fall" to now makes me wonder. Both pictures are showing hair in a shrunken state and that's a LOT of growth - even if it was taken in September and the last one yesterday. I'm not saying it isn't possible but I'd need to see other dated pictures of the growth in between before believing her.

Of course its hers if it's 12 inches in 2 yrs like the other ladies here are calculating. What I don't understand is all the mean and nasty comments on the website about her appearance. She's a mother, wears her own hair unlike most celebrities, and gets beaten down.

Yeah I suspect it's a blowout or it's been stretched in some form. Didn't look like 100% shrinkage in the pic from the link. I shock the heck out of people when I stretch my hair out LOL. My shrinkage is about 70-75%.

I know over spring/summer she was rockin' a natural weave that she actually admitted was weave. If she says that's all her hair in the pic then I believe her.

the people who post on that site...as well as the bloggers can be so ignorant...this is why MTO is garbage to me...

I remember one story where they said that Gabrielle Union cut her hair...:hand:
