We were watching tv and DH said about one of the main characters, "She needs to do whatever you're doing because her hair is stressed. It's amazing that I can look at a woman now and tell whether her hair is stressed or not.":ohwell:

I really didn't think he was taking that much notice. I guess our men do pick up more than we think.

 I had to school a few guys I dated on weave detection. They became pros at that.

Now, when he starts telling other females their hair is stressed and they need to deep condition like you do, then you know you've created a monster:D

I taught my SO. He's becoming reallly good at it. :)

Mine told another young lady who was thinking about getting a relaxer, "you know it gonna take you about a year and a half to grow that out right?"

Guess who had transitioned out of a relaxer for about that long?

I never thought he was really paying attention.

Too funny!

This is a funny thread. The other day my boyfriend asked me if I remembered to take my vitamins and drink my carrot juice. LOL I almost lost it. He's a sweetie. All this time, I thought he was just heaing me (when I talk about my hair), but not really listening. Guess I was wrong.

(sigh) God I love that man.

These are great stories. My husband does my t/u because we live where relaxers don't exist. I told him that I was ready for my t/u since it had been 10 weeks and he told me, "I think that you can stretch it a little longer this time because your new growth doesn't look like you're ready yet." I still went on ahead an made my appointment  because I am traveling this weekend and did not want to be rollersetting and flatironing my new growth while on vacation. He's got his application and smoothing time down and he even said to me about sectioning the hair pre-relaxer that "this is the most important part in the process to me, because it determines how easy application of the relaxer will be for me." I was impressed that he was paying that much attention! And ladies, he doesn't overlap! :)

We are learning and so are they. It's great!

Dh always making comments about the women he works with. Monday night when he came home from work he said "I see what you mean, all blondes are not natural blondes. Most of the blondes I work with have dark roots".:perplexed

I do believe they take in more than they want to admit.

Girl, I have him trained. Since I left the states, he has done all of my touch-ups and my hair is thriving! He does better than me, because I botched myself once (18 months ago) because I did not want to wait for him to come home. That was my only setback in my hair journey. I overlapped and I lost so much hair because I can't relax to save my life. He is my stylist for life!

Hilarious!!! My Dh has gone from helping me apply the relaxer to applying it all by hisself. Next time I'm going to have him smooth too cause I'm not doing a good job.:look:

My SO told me I needed to give his friend some "hair gravy" so she could "deep condition" because her hair was "dry-looking"...they definitely pay attention.

You are soo right. Mine has become an expert on moisturizers. He reads ingredients and everything

My fiance is white and he is just learning about AA hair. Recently he has learned how to spot a weave (and now knows that white women wear weaves just as much as AA women) and he knows that some AA like myself need to keep our hair and scalp moisturized. So at night when I take out my hair products he always offers to "Grease my scalp" for me. And if I fall asleep without wrapping my hair he wakes me up and says "Baby dont you need to wrap it up." Its cute.
