Hi Ladies,
I'm currently 8 weeks post and my goal is to transition to 100% natural hair without bc'ing or wearing wigs, sew-ins, etc. I'm at the point when detangling after washing or co-washing is becoming REALLLLY tough. I wash once per week (thursday) with elasta qp creme conditioning wash and co wash once per week (monday). I've also been really trying to deep condition often for the overall health of my hair. Here are some things I've tried:
-applied Aubrey Organics honeysuckle rose last night, rinsed out this morning, co-washed with Trader Joe's Nourishing spa conditioner. Attempted to detangle with fingers and wide toothed comb. Applied Miracle in 10 leave-in. Still no slip.
-last week, washed with elasta qp creme conditioner, applied ORS replenishing conditioner mixed with olive oil, silk amino acids and honeyquat. Applied miracle it's a 10 leave-in. Still not much slip.
My hair is VERY thick, med to light brown, and I believe I'm 4a/4b. I got a trim a month or so ago and it's past APL, just above BSL. What are you all's regimen for detangling when stretching or transitioning? What products do you recommend? I'm beginning to have doubts and just want to be able to manage my hair for the road ahead.
