I detangle my hair with a wide toothed comb on damp hair loaded up with oil. Then I do a hot oil treatment, shampoo and DC.

I find that if I don't detangle, my hair clumps more.

I would have thought that even though I do comb my coils out, they would have plenty of time to revive during the hot oil and DC. but no... my hair stays angry at me.

Does anyone experience this and how do you deal with it?

My hair doesn't like oil on it while its wet/damp. Maybe thats why. If I prepoo, its only on dry hair.

That's interesting!

I actually did do a hot oil on DRY hair for the second pic. I usually dampen it just to detangle it.

I wonder... what would happen if I detangled on dry hair (with lots of oil)?

There are so many little things that affect how your hair comes out. I'm going to be testing different things for months! :pullhair:

I've been noticing that. The slightest change in routine and your hair will look completely different. It's annoying and awesome all at the same time.

Maybe you should try putting your hair into large twists to dry - that'll encourage clumping. Nikstar does it - she has pics in her fotki. I think her name on here is Luvmybighair or something like that.

Yep, yep. I totally agree.

Thanks, I'll go check it out! :)
