Hi everyone,
A while back I posted about my balding. I didnt know what caused it but it happened when I restarted a mixture of mtg and surge. Well, I was feeling really positive, so I stopped everything and started back on my vitamins for three weeks now and black castor oil from jamaica. Everything was going fine and the patch started showing hair. I was still itching badly so I bought nizoral last week. it stopped the itch. I decided to add surge to the castor oil. My hair fell out and now the balding part to the front is just horrible looking. Is it possible that I am reacting to surge? I find it hard to believe because I have used it for months before. Now i am researching to see if it could be the nizoral. But I didnt find anything on that. Depressing about it wont help but what am i going to do with the whole side bald like that? I also got some red itchy bumps. I stopped the surge 2 days ago and rubbed in the castor oil more often and the bump is gone as of today. Im not bashing any product cause I dont know what caused this. I have done every medical test under the sun and the doc says i am in perfect condition. Right now, all i can say is i need prayer. please see my pic here

Aww, I sorry about your bad experience, and I wish I had some advice. Just hang in there honey.

I am so sorry. I will definitely pray for you and the healing of your scalp. I would definitely discontinue use of the surge and try not to put any extra tension on the scalp with tight braids or ponytails.

This makes me so sad! :( I hope you find out what the problem was. Sounds like you are doing everything right as far as regaining the health of that spot. I'd probably lay off the Surge altogether, because as of now it sounds like that may be the culprit. :ohwell:

I know you'll gain that length back, and then some. Hang in there, sis! We've all faced setbacks, and i know you'll emerge from this all the wiser, having learned a whole bunch more. *hugs*

I am so sorry about what you are going through. I have a question. What kind of doctor did you see? Was it a family practitioner or an allergist? I would suggest sticking with the castor oil, because you aren't reacting to that. Maybe you could try a skin test on your arm (or another hidden part of your body) with the surge and/or nizoral to see if you get those bumps. I think it is the surge, maybe there is an ingredient in it your body isn't agreeing with. But I would definitely consult with an allergist or maybe even a dermotologist. I will say a pray for you. Stay strong.

Thanks for the support. Today I was looking up St johns wort and natural remedies for stress. i dont think i am stress but then i hear you can be stressed and dont even know it. I just want to wake up in 6 months with my hair there you know.

I'm so sorry u are going through this...I know EXACTLY how you feel , I have had 4 major set backs on my haircare journey. Don't give up, it does not look bad, it could be MUCH worst!!!!!!!!!! BTW, your nails are BEAUTIFUL!!!

I agree with the bolded. With the surge + mtg and surge + castor oil mixes, surge is the common denominator. When you used these products that were surge-enhanced, your hair loss occurred. You probably have an allergy to it.

:(

I saw a medical doctor and a dermatologist. the dermatologist just gave me a steroid cream. the medical doctor checked me for a long list of illnesses that cause hair loss, autoimmune funtion, hormone, diseases etc. He said from my profile that I am taking good care of myself. He told me to take the results to the dermatologist just in case. but i didnt bother to go back to the derm
