hey i hear alot about these brushes but i would like to know why you guys love this brush so much... what do you guys use it for.. is it good to use on slightly damp hair and does it work well for new growth? just curious

Ditto!:bump::bump::bump::bump:
Glad you asked this krissynick. I was just doing a search on the Denman to see what and how about it. I keep seeing it in BSSs and my PJism was making my fingers itch to purchase it.

I use mine on slightly damp hair as the final step for 'detangling' my hair, to insure that I get most of the shed hairs out. I think how 'fragile' your demacation line is would determine if you could use it on NG...

I use it for detangling. I section my hair into four twists, and I use my brush to detangle thru each section. It works on damp or dry hair in my opinion. Since my hair is more fragile wet, I tend to just run thru each section with my jilbere shower comb on damp hair and use the denman on dry hair... it removes any tangles very easily and it's seamless so it doesn't rip at your hair. I've also used it when I blow dried my damp hair (on cool) and it makes the hair smoother and easier to manage, but it is alot of stress on the arms.

I got mine from Sallys, the D3 - I think it was 8.99?

I esp. love how EASY it is to clean - the pink plastic bit comes apart from the black base, and you can actually remove the bristles and clean them separately - and you can almost put it back together with one hand - I REALLY like it.

It smooths out my 'curls' and turns them into waves - makes my hair really smooth.

I was thinking about getting one. I guess I will go to Sally's this weekend with that coupon and get one.

I hear that a lot of naturals us it to define their curls. Is that right?

Yes, it does define the curls. This is a really good brush to have. I detangle in the shower the jilbere comb, get out, put in my products, and then part my hair and continue detangling with the brush. The curls look really cute afterwards.

Good. Because I found one at Sally's the other day on sale for $5.99 regular $9.99 (Denman D4) plus I got to use my discount card and coupon :grin:

Can someone post a picture? I needed an excuse to use my 15% off coupon for Sally's, I think I just found the answer!!

its just a good quality brush. i only brush to detangle wet hair and the denman is the only brush i will ever use.

I agree....essential to my detangling regimen. I use it with my hair sopping wet with diluted leave in...run a wide tooth comb through and then the Denman....it grabs those shed hairs and detangles as it goes. Love it!!

This is exactly how I use mine as well. I detangle with my Jilbere shower comb while I have a lot of conditioner in my hair and then i add my product and go back over with the brush. I mainly use mine when I pull my hair back in a bun though (to define my waves).

That's pretty much how I use mine too, but on wet hair. I use it after my hair is thoroughly detangled and for the same reason...shed hair removal.

I use my D4 (I have two and have had them for 5 years) to detangle my hair after I use my wide-tooth comb. My only complaint is the one I use the most is falling apart. LOL, the bristles on the outside keep falling down so the whole row is horizontal. Not cool when you are trying to brush through your conditioner. Makes the whole brush slip out of your hand.
