Define Deep Conditioning

So i was talking to 1 of my friends yesterday and she asked me what deep conditioning was. Yall know i had the hardest time defining it? I couldn't put it in words so this morning i thought to myself, let me ask my LCHF sisters. So what do you yall think?

I'll take a stab at it.

Leaving a penetrating conditioner in your hair for 20 minutes or more. And to up the ante add heat.

I would say DC is basically conditioning for an extended period of time with or without heat with a conditioner of your choice. I personally don't use heat all the time since I despise sitting under a dryer so I usually DC for 2 hours while I clean or watch a movie.

Saturating your hair with a conditioner (that's specifically made for deep conditioning) and leaving it in for an extended period of time and/or with heat. This is so the conditioner can fully penetrate the strands and moisturize all of your hair. Your hair needs moisture so it won't be brittle, break, and be more prone to split ends.

I think its when you apply a conditioner that's slightly more moisturizing than everyday cowash conditioner and leave it on for an extended period of time (with or without heat) allowing it to penetrate the hair better.

I agree with the other posters here's my personal 2 cents:

A Product that is Labeled as Deep, Penetrating, Intensive, Masque, Hair Paste, Repair, Treatment, that has the ability to penetrate the Hair Shaft due to its Molecular components.

Often require a certain amount of time from anywhere of 15 minutes to 1 hour. Some Treatments caneven require 'overnight' conditioning. Most require hair to be covered, and some require Heat
