Deep conditioning with heat or not?

Which is better? I usually use my ION hard bonnet twice a week for 30 min. When I travel, I want to deep condition without lugging around my bonnet. Your thoughts?

i feel that deep conditioning with heat is important to let the conditione penetrate. without heat it just sits on top of my hair.

I agree that using heat does seem to work better. When you're traveling, you could possibly soak one of the hand towels with hot water, wrap it around your head, and then wrap a larger towel around it. That way, heat is being applied to your conditioner, but you don't have to worry about bringing your bonnet with you. If you travel to a place and have access to a clothes dryer, throw the towel in the dryer for a while and use the same process I described above.

I say yes to the bolded, and this has got me to thinking that I need to buy a soft bonnet dryer, so I can take it with me on vacations this summer. I also need heat in my hair life for DCing it just feels sooooo much different when I use heat, when I use to do overnight conditioning it wasn't worth it unless oil was added and the oil is what probably made it feel good.

If you can lug around a bog bonnet, try a heating cap or using a wet towel with a plastic cap on top:)

Cool, thanks for the input. I used to own a soft bonnet, but it like only last a year. I had replaced two over the years and went ahead with the ION hard bonnet.

Well dag, thanks for sharing that, I will stick with the steaming cap.

I would think using heat is better, but when I need to multitask at home, I skip the dryer and just walk around with my plastic cap on. Heat is still generating from your head though because my cap is always foggy from the humidity coming from my hair/head. I also leave it on for at least an hour, and I seem to get the same results when I rinse.
