Deep conditioning twice a week?

Really it depends, I think. I don't know about anyone else, but I deep condition twice a week for two weeks after a chemical service with protein followed by a deep moisturizing conditioner, then just once a week after that. But, because I live in the Northeast, during the colder months, I deep condition every time I was it which can be about twice a week because the cold can severely dry out my hair. So, go with how your hair feels. I really don't believe in over-conditioning the hair unless you are using the wrong conditioner. But, if you like the way your hair feels and looks, continue your regimen. :)

I don't think it's too much either. I think that's about average in LHCF time.

OT-Candy C your hair is gorgeous!

I agree with everything you typed. Excellent points!

Let me get this straight....alternate between a moisturizing conditioner and protein conditioner if you going to deep condition twice a week. Is this correct?

Sorry i wasn't very clear. Basically deep conditioning is great twice a week, i've been doing it till recently (hair got a bit toooo mushy) ..but, thats because i've been slacking on Protein Leave Ins.

I would deep con twice a week ( with moisture ) , then use a moisture leave-in on day 1 then a protein leave in on day 5.

hope thats what u wanted!

What protien leave-in are you using? I use Sebastian Potion #9 and man is that bad boy potent! I only put that in my hair about once every 2 weeks or so.

lol @ badboy..

i use Salerm21 silk protein since recent..its a godsend! it changes my whole texture, its very moisturizng ontop of protein so its all good.

I deep condition twice a week and it does wonders for my hair.

I never suffer from dry hair like I used to. It has gotten to the point where I don't have to ise mounds of daily moisture like I used to.

I just lightly put a little hemp seed oil on my hair everyday and that's it. I think that's because of the bi-weekly deep conditions.

I totally agree!

I've been washing and deep conditioning twice each week since I first came to LHCF and this and made all the difference in the world with my hair.

We are definitely on the same page now! Is is better to use heat when deep conditioning your hair? I have always wondered if this actually made a difference in the outcome of your hair.

Personally, I get great results just wearing a plastic cap, without an outside source of heat. My scalp seems to heat the conditioner very well. I love the results.

I do it twice a week every other week if my hair just seems unhappy (and this winter has been brutally dry)

In the warmer months I knock it back to a definite once a week thing.

I think a DC twice a week is ok, you just have to pay attention to what your hair is doing and what it needs. Its not for everyone thats for sure.

What hair type do you have & what do you do after you wash? - I have 4B and consider it to be a lot of work to air dry twice a week. But id I could get a system down, I would love to try it.

I'm 4a/b and I airdry in a bun. If I had to rollerset or something else, washing twice a week would probably be out of the question. But airdrying in a bun in the easiest part of my regimen. How do you airdry?
