The ingredients look good enough to actually be effective as a DC, have any of you ever tried it?

Bumping to add I'll be trying it out tonight so I will be back with my results too. I have the Jojoba Oil one.

I don't think the ingredients matter as much as the size of the molecules that would allow it to penetrate or not.

I'm afraid to ask you to elaborate on that cuz I hate science :lachen:

Miss AJ

I used to dc with Aussie Moist but realized that my hair still wouldn't feel as moisturized as it did when I used dc's that had formulations meant for penetrating (15 min or longer) instead of just temporarily coating.

Well the bottle says the longer you leave it on, the better your results will be. That's what gave me the idea to try it as a deep treatment.

I'm still DCing with it right now, the menthol is tingly on my scalp. Gonna shampoo it out and quick condition once I'm done watching Next Day Air :)

ETA: And I'm done. I took my bun down, picked my hair out, and parted in 4 sections and applied the conditioner to each section, combed through, rolled each section into a bantu knot and sat with a plastic cap and satin bonnet for an hour and a half (my DC sessions have been about 1 and a half to 2 hours lately, depending on how long the movie I'm watching is lol). The tingling felt amazing on my scalp, it wasn't unbearable at all. When it was time to rinse it out I took each section down one by one and ran my fingers through it and that was amazingly easy. I had more slip with it this way than I did using it as a co-wash conditioner on wet hair. I got under the shower head and let a little water hit, then I massaged my scalp for a bit, rinsed all the conditioner out and once again finger detangling and detangling with my shower comb was a breeze. When I used it as a co-wash conditioner and tried to detangle afterward it was difficult, I always had to use another rinse out conditioner after that just to get a comb through it. Shampooed with Pantene Relaxed and Natural, conditioned with the matching conditioner, and now I just got done letting it airdry before I do my moisturizing routine. I haven't used any other products yet and my hair is so soft and I can still run my fingers through it. I like my results. My next washing session is Tuesday night so I'm gonna do it this way a few more times and see if I still feel the same about it.

That's good to hear. I'm always amazed at how everyone's hair responds to different techniques and products.

Hair one leaves my hair feeling shampooed. Not a stripped, but clean and...naked. It's a nice feeling, but not one the I would like to get from a DC. After I DC I want to feel like something has been added, not subtracted. I never use Hair One for anything other than cleansing. Not even as a leave in as suggested on the bottle...My hair would be a dried out mess if I used that stuff as a leave in. :nono:
