DC on dry hair??

I'm DC'ing on dry hair right now with AO HSR:grin:. I do it every week. Love it. I usually wrap it up, work out, and let it out in my gym's steam room. If I don't do the steam room, I'll leave it in overnight. My hair seems to like it, and if she likes it, I like it.:drunk:

why is everyone shampooing afterwards?

I think it's because the directions on the products used to DC do say to shampoo afterwards.

Emergencée's directions that I follow read:
Directions
Shampoo with Nexxus® Shampoo for your hair type. Apply an ample amount of Emergencee to completely cover the hair. Work through. Cover hair with plastic cap. Leave in for 10 minutes with or without heat. Rinse with lukewarm water. Shampoo with Therappe® Luxury Moisturizing Shampoo and follow with Humectress® Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner to maintain moisture balance. Proceed with styling. Emergencee is an excellent pre-treatment for delicate hair prior to all chemical services.

AO GPB directions read:
Directions
Shake well before using. After shampooing, apply to damp hair and work through concentrating on the ends. Leave on for 1 or 2 minutes, then rinse. For deep conditioning: Apply to dry and distribute from scalp to ends. Leave on for 15 minutes, then shampoo and condition hair as usual.

I started DCing on dry hair earlier this year, and I'm in love with it! I wish I'd discovered this a long time ago. I use a heatcap for 30 minutes or longer (depending on what I'm doing around the house). I then wash with a mild shampoo and use Aphogee 2 min and then rinse. Sometimes I'll end the process with Porosity Control.
Wow! Thats the same thing that I do! Except for the porosity control. I will have to try that one.

I DC on Dry hair.
1.Pre poo
2.Shampoo ( I don't use harsh shampoos, etc - make my own, yada yada...)
3.Post poo ( with moisture at all times)

LM where in the line do you put your ayurveda powders and do you oil before? Do you do paste or tea rinses?
Before powders I DC on dry hair but now when I use the powders I DC on wet hair because I oil let the sit for an hour and then I do a paste usually amla and brahmi then I DC.

Is anyone still doing their dc before washing and loving the results? I just tried it for the first time this evening (mostly trying to save time!) and currently waiting for my hair to dry - eager to see if it works for my hair!

I DC on dry hair, mostly to save time. To make it even easier I mix my DC with water and use a bottle with an applicator tip to apply it. It goes on quickly and I only have to get in the shower once. I never DC after washing so I don't know how this compares.

I can really feel the difference in my hair this morning - another convert to dry hair DCs here! My hair feels stronger and like it has more weight to it (it's usually quite fluffy and fly-away after a wash), and it's very shiny! To give a balanced review though:

It did require A LOT more conditioner than usual. I'd say at least twice as much. But I guess that's worth it for the results!

Spreading a fairly viscous substance through dry hair did increase shedding. However my hair sheds if I so much as look at it funny, so I guess that could only be expected.

It didn't style very well overnight - it's so soft and shiny that it kept falling out of the pins!

I don't do it all the time but quite a bit and I use Silicon Mix and will put it on my dry hair at night and rinse it out and then co-wash the next day or put it on on wash day and leave it in for a few hours, rinse and then co-wash...my hair feels fabulous.
