My mom used Blue Magic on me when I was a little girl. I haven't used or seen it in years but I still remember the smell........

I find the dax to be heavier than the blue magic, but the blue magic comes in so many variaties and smells!!!! I love them both for sealing and they are both staples for me. U asked which works better....i say it depends what u want it to work for?

Regarding the bolded, I agree. What is your purpose for using it?

I also find Dax to be heavier than Blue Magic, but I have a jar of Super Light Dax pomade that I keep around to refresh twists that have loosened. The Super Light Dax pomade is really light.

Damn i remember using blue magic, when i use to get my hair pressed early 2000. the smell use to be really nice, i dont know about now thou.. you know how they always change things up.

I use dax or blue magic for sealing my ends it's wonderful for that and yes i do admit to also greasing my scalp wit blue magic..........it brings back childhood memories, it's very therapeutic......for me! For smoothing hair i use dax as it's heavier, sometimes i use abit of dax and eco styler...the hold is soft yet firm!!!!!

I remember green Dax on an exhausting wash, blow dry, and hot comb session. My hair used to be so long when I was a child. I am just really afraid of using high heat on my hair. Mom used to use the grease to hold the strait look for a week. I wonder if that holds true.

I'm back to using Dax (the regular green one) on the length of my hair to seal. I then braid and air dry. My hair is the softest and shinest ever.

I have finally worked out that natural oils were not heavy enough to seal with and my hair was left dry and straw like.

I do not apply it to my scalp - for that i use Castor Oil.

Yeh for grease.
