What am i supposed to do with this...i just read some old posts about the refined kind being drying....now what to do?!

Same problem, but I'm making mine work! I add mango butter and botanic oil to it, then run it through my hair. It works fine, no drying. I fought off the dryness it caused on my ends by following up the mixture w/conditioner applied directly to my ends. They are ohhhh so soft now!!

I use it on my body and it makes a great massage oil!

Is there a difference in the look of unrefined coconut oil to refined coconut oil? Because the kind that I have doesn't say whether it's refined or not.

Okay, I think that I found out whether my coconut oil is refined or not. It says that there are no preservatives and no coloring agents, that it's "natural". Does natural mean the same thing as unrefined?

well i'll see in the morning if its drying or not b/c i just used it on wet hair...and i also used it on my body...now i have a nice lil sheen!! thanks ms_kenesha!

Does anyone know what exactly in the refined coconut oil causes too much to be drying? I've been experimenting with different oils since I became natural and I've pretty much liked all of them so far but I haven't used the coconut oil yet. I didn't care much for it when I was relaxed, but I thought that I'd give it another chance on my natural hair. Now that I'm hearing about how it can possibly cause dryiness I'm a little leary.
