hie ladies i was wondering if any1 uses the d&l relaxer or has any experiences with it. Where they good or bad?? why did u change etc. For those that left it because it left their hair dry would u be willing to consider going back now that they have the new conditioning relaxer?? thanx

I like that relaxer alot. I left it for the last couple of relaxers but not because I didn't like it. I plan on going back to it from now on.

this was the first relaxer i ever used, it was pretty good, would burn a little but not that bad. i did switch to beautiful beginnings though b/c they were made by the same company and i was young at the time so my hairdresser suggested it.it didnt dry out my hair, but i wouldnt go back. hopefully i'll love elucence lye relaxer and stick to that from now on.now that i think about it i remember my hair being reallllly, extremely silky and thin(not in a bad way) and looking really shiny and healthy after using this relaxer.think mya campbell from in the house.

I've used Dark N Lovely relaxer a few times over the years and it's OK but nothing great. The last time I used it, I wasn't impressed at all.

Hi NGAA,

I have been using the Dark and Lovely for the past 3 to 4 years and I have been pleased with the results. It is true about the burning, but if you monitor your scalp irritation (scratching) a day or so before applying the relaxer you should be okay.

I am looking forward to purchashing the new "Conditioning" version tonight and trying it out tomorrow.

I used D&L mild/regular relaxers for years. I had stopped for awhile because I thought Gentle Treatment wasn't as harsh...my hair takes to things very easily. However, I tried it last year, now that it has the conditioner, and I did like it a lot. If I decide to relax my hair again when I get home, I will be using D&L.

Hi Ngaa

My haidresser uses D&L on my hair and I have not had any problems.

Off topic - do you still want me to send you a bottle of Surge?

hi ngaa,
i used it twice (some years in between) and it dried out my fine 4a hair terribly both times like no other relaxer did. I will NEVER try it again!

My hair isn't light enough to my liking in some areas, so I'm going to get it lifted higher, perhaps next week, or within the upcoming month. My hair felt dry after I took down my updo that I've had in all week. But after I shampooed 3 times with the Optimum SP Shampoo and used the Garnier Conditioner, it felt back to normal.

It's good to see you're prepping yourself early ahead of time.
