"...Synthetic hair is made from special types of plastic fibers. These fibers can look and feel like real hair, but they are actually made from manufactured chemical materials... basically plastic. Some common materials used in synthetic hair include modacrylic, vinyl chloride, and acrylonitrile. Many of the fibers that are used are put into a copolymer that is largely stable unless disrupted by a process… and what we know right now is that heat is a culprit.

Carcinogenic materials in synthetic braids: an unrecognized risk of hair products for Black women

Ironically, when I started walking with the LORD, I just stopped having a taste for fake hair. Like braids and stuff. Even when I put on a wig or crochet braids, they don't last more than a few days.

I don't wear extended hair, but I remember hearing about this one a couple of years ago. I think the lady that created the company used to be on this hair board.

Thank you. I don't braid, but it would be nice to have the option, and my mother stays in braids. I'm interested in how weighty these are compared to kanekalon, and if they are less stiff feeling.

I have eczema and my dermatologist told me not to wear synthetic hair, only human hair. I guess this has something to do with it.
