Newbie Here :wave:just wondering...does danduff shampoo promote hair growth and a healthy scalp? I'm a Pj and I need a new poo...I think I have a sick scalp?? Although I don 't have dandruff...

Uhmm...why do you think you have a sick scalp? I think dandruff shampoo helps in that way only if you do have some condition that causes dandruff and hinders healthy growth. So if you don't have dandruff, then I don't think it will make any difference to you.

I have done research on sick scalps..thinning hair, soreness, icthing, etc..I have those symptoms...so I diagnosed myself...lol. I also did a searc on Nizoral and it came up as a dandruff shampoo...so I figured that dandruff poo will help:perplexed

Your scalp is probably like mine...very tempermental. I like Elasta qp scalp stimulating shampoo. It tingles and leaves my scalp feeling clean. You can also try head and shoulders dry scalp shampoo. Tgel shampoos work well too. Concentrate the lather on the scalp and let it sit for a couple of minutes.

I think most hairloss even male balding is accompanied by soreness or some weird feeling as follicles die. The mistake most people make is think they need not touch their scalp at all when it's tender. But I've read that you really need to use that time not to scratch but really massage your scalp to keep it supple and get blood flowing to bring nutrients to the follicles. Bald people have very tight scalps that don't move, so any time your scalp feels funny give it a good massage and get that skin moving. I know when I lost my hair, the spots the hair fell from felt very tender. So any time my scalp feels tender, I get a-massaging like there's no tomorrow.

Becareful with it though, some say it will dry your hair out...

I have not had that experience with it yet.
