TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
There was a thread in the past where someone co washed their hair first, used shampoo, then conditioned their hair again. This works for me.:yep: My hair just feel awesome right now. Soft and moisturized, even though I botched up the wrap attempt. I wonder if anyone else here does it. The thread was big in the past and I have NO idea on how to bump it up.:lachen:

I use to practice this method but it caused my hair to be over moisturized at times, since my hair is fine. I now do hot oil treatments as my pre-poo and it works out so much better for me.

I never considered fine hair. My hair is uber thick. I guess that's why this method works well for me.:yep:

My hair isn't thick and my hair loves it, I just do it in moderation so it works out great for me! Plus I keep protein treatments in my regi to keep things balanced.

I just revisited this on my dd natural hair a few days ago, and boy what a difference it made. Her hair was tangle free.

YES! You found it! Thank you! I didn't post right on how to do it. You have to mix shampoo and conditioner together to do it their way. Oh well, my way just works better for me.

^Ohh, ok this is not what I do. I don't mix the shampoo with anything.^

I use plain old cheapie V05 conditioner to detangle first before I wash. Then I use my herbal shampoo (contains sodium laureth sulfate which gets all the cones out for me) and then I use my cone free herbal conditioner.

This just helps me bc I am transitioning and I need help with cones when detangling (especially from my braidouts which I wear a lot), but I can't keep cones close to or on my scalp bc they clog my follicles and I get bumps and my scalp actually hurts after a few days. It does this whenever I try to cowash with a conditioner containing cones and when I use Sabino Moisture block too close to my scalp when straightening my hair. As soon as I wash my hair with the process above, my scalp becomes itch and pain free.

I'm not sure I will mix the conditioner with the shampoo either. I will read the thread. There were some threads that talked about what the two of you are talking about too.

I actually tried this out by accident... I only shampoo once every 6 weeks or so and last weekend was time to shampoo -- I'm so used to just picking up my conditioners that I put conditioner in my head -- I said oops its shampoo day -- so I let the conditioner stay in a bit then rinsed it out then shampooed my hair then deep conditioned it. it came out awesome soft and fluffy...I wear braidouts mostly.
