This is the total bomb and I have to thank Den1 for the instructions!!! I love it. I CWed my hair with V05 and then did a Deep condition with Elasta QP DPR-11 and my twists looked the EXACT same way as they did when I started! (not to mention it was soft like butter). No frizz whatsoever! I was so shocked because I exspected to see some frizz at least but no, not a bit. I gotta give mad props to Den for being so thoughtful and creative! I'll be doing this from now on.

Yes, i've done this a few times and was so happy i viewed Den's album, So informative and accurate.
Thank you Den1;)

Oh i am going to have to try this with my hair when it is cornrowed. I think i remember someone telling they did this when they had extentions in a few years ago. Yet another thing to add to my list of things to buy at the store.

Thanks for the Shoutout Caisha, angellazette i'm sorry the stocking cap method wasn't successful for you. Ladies, i use the method all time on my protective styles and i'm able to wear them a little longer. As long as i live i will never stop using this method, i'm never disappointed.

I'll probably give it another try though this time with no poo, just cw. I really want to wash my scalp!!

will have to try this! Do you just put the stocking cap on & cw as you normally would?
Yes, i just place the cap securely over my head, and allow the water from the shower head to saturate, then apply conditioner over the cap.

You could give it another try and see whether it may work this time. what i try not to do is manipulate my braids under the cap too much or else it can get quite frizzy. if i wish to get my scalp clean , i apply diluted shampo into anozzle bottle so i can clean the scalp directly without manipulating with my fingers too much.

heres the pics, it shows you how i do it when cleaning my scalp with shampoo whilist using the stocking cap.

I am also part of the TWA Grow-out Challenge and had been reading a good deal about the C&G Method... After getting my texlaxed TWA two-strand/kinky twisted (with extensions), I had to find the C&G thread.

Den1, I must thank you for your thoughfulness: The step-by-step pictures were soooooo helpful! :fan: One word of caution to others planning to utilize the method: Don't use a control-top pantyhose (ROFL!) because the material is too thick to allow the diluted shampoo or the conditioner penetrate the hair and scalp.

Otherwise, y'all, a very helpful method! I'm so excited. It felt so good to feel water on my scalp after a whole week of not washing it because I didn't think I could with these twists. Now my curly hair popping out of the twists is another issue...:angry2:

Would this be the way to go if you are starting to loc?
