Hey ladies....

I only had one question. How often are you suppose to cut your ends? The last time I cut mine was October and I was just wondering when I am I suppose to cut again? Can you wise ladies help me out? thanks:look:

IMO you should cut your ends when you need them to be cut. If they are splitting then cut them cause you dont want a split end to cause a setback in you journey. I got my ends trimmed 6 Sept and as of today my hairdresser said they look great. I have been in box braids 6 Oct to 5 Nov so my ends were very protected.

well the last time i dusted my ends was september and im going to get them dusted again next week. i found a couple of splits and want to make sure i dont find them traveling up.

normally 6-8 weeks or whenever you do your touch ups if your permed, if your not permed i'd say approx every several months or so. and a trim should only be 1/2-1 inch to me anything more than that is a hair cut, unless your ends are really damaged.

with permed hair you really have to keep the ends fresh, i know for myself i should trim more but i don't and now that's why i'm above apl after being at least apl because my ends were horrid. :(

my hair grows right back to where it was before i trimmed it, but at least with healthier ends. not trimming works for some but for me even with moisture and oiling my ends i still end up with splits at times, my friend doesn't trim and she is past bsl but she has see through ends from not trimming, her hair is long but doesn't look good and she moisturizes and takes care of it, imo there is nothing wrong with trimming and that is 1/2-1 inch.

it's not just that hair dressers say this because they are happy to scalp us.....some are lol! but it is good to maintain your hair in the most healthy state possible.

NEVER. <--- that's my angel face.

I trim twice a year and dust weekly because I get split ends easily.

I'm relaxed and I don't trim. I just dust maybe 3 times a year. If you keep your ends protected and healthy, you won't have to trim all of the time. Just lightly dust to keep everything nice and neat :yep:

If you constantly cut your hair, you'll never see progress! All you need is a good dusting every few months or so :)

I dust every 2 months to be on the safe side. I trim every 4 if needed which usually is never because I dust. I myself dust not the stylist so I dont worry about not seeing progress.

Trim when they get raggedy. Be it every 4 weeks or every 6 months. Just keep your eye on them. Having to trim too often means you need to check your environmental factors to see whats making them raggedy so quickly.
