Curlformers UPDATE ( I no longer hate them lol)

I decided to give curlfomers another try. I went out and got the Extra Wide and Long variety because I felt that the narrowness of the mouth on the regular size was too small. Well, turns out I just was not doing it right. I had the technique down but for one thing. I wasnt squeezing the mouth over the hook as I slid it over! That is the UTMOST important thing to keep from snagging. It is shown in the demonstration vid that the guy pulls UPWARD toward the scalp. Its imperative that it be done that way or it will be a DISASTER for me at least lol. I was able to successfully apply them tonight. I am so proud of myself LOL. I will even be going back to the Extra Long and Wide but keeping the Extra Wide and Long because thats useful for some sections of hair. I dont know what clicked on tonight when I did them but I realized that all I needed to do was squeeze open the mouth of the curlformer as it I drew it UP over the hook so it wouldnt snag lol. It does take a bit of learning, especially for someone like me who has never even done a traditional rollerset because Im terrible at parting and that kind of thing. I also have a great deal of hair and its near waist length/waist length making everything even more difficult. I can now recommend them but I would advise that you really learn how to use them before attempting a full wet set with them or you'll come away extremely frustrated! If your hair is waist length or anywhere close, you'll require the Extra Long and Wide,,, any other ones will have your hair sticking out the end especially if you apply them close to the roots.....
This is the instructional vid.. it demonstrates exactly how they should be applied..

*****Baby give me one more chance...**** I'm glad that you didn't give up on them, and that they are working for you now :yep:

:giggle: I was bored today so after DCing and washing my hair, I decided to put on Curformers...on braids. :look: Took me an hour and a half. My hair was practically dry by the time I was done so I have a feeling they won't really set. :ohwell: A braidout is definitely a quicker way to set my braids.

Nonie that came out really cute. At OP, glad you gave them another try and they worked for you this time. I bought some last night, first time I'd done a roller set of any kind and they came out nice. Yay curlformers!! I can finally do spirals!

anyone know of a good setting product to use? used ic sparkellites gel but it didn't give me the kind of hold i'm looking for.

Looks so cute Nonie!! I didnt expect that!

Blackbarbie, I use styling foam but it doesnt seem to hold very well :(. Im still looking for something that will not cause crispiness but will hold if thats possible. I think not lol

Ummmmm.......where are YOUR pics?????

I just went out and bought 5 packs of extra wide and long. I wanna try to use this instead of rollersetting because I haven't had much success with it. I already had some long and wide ones home, so I tried one of those to see if all of my hair would fit, and it didn't. I had hair hanging out at the bottom. I just hit BSL/BSB and I had a good inch of hair hanging out. I wanna try putting a roller on the tips sooo bad, but I'm afraid it will be a mess.
