Hey Everyone!
After researching this product for nearly a year and waiting for them to sell it retail in NY, I finally purchased it at a beauty supply in NY. Its non alkaline and the main ingredient other than conditioners are aqueous acetic acid(which is found in vinegar). Yesterday I tried it and of course it did not straighten my hair one bit and I don't think it ever will but I found my hair to be extremely soft right after I rinsed it out and it was still soft AND tangle free after I shampooed my hair and that never happens! I braided my hair in two and my hair is visibly less frizzy than when Idid this style yesterday. I think this will be a good pre-poo when I start pressing my hair again. I will keep u posted! (That seems to be my new saying on here!)

I used curlaway on my natural hair. Their FAQ said AA hair will have to use it 12 or more times to get any significant change in curl pattern.

I used it six and decided to texturize, but it does make the hair easier to comb and detangle. :yep:

Thats what I liked about it. I don't want to disturb my curl pattern. I just want to soften it and to keep the frizzies at bay when I press.

I am really intrigued by this product. I had never heard of it before. So it's a gel that you apply to your hair to help straighten? And its reversible? And your hair stays healthy after continued use?

if you look at the website, the results they are claiming seem fraudelent (IMO). they what appears to be relaxered before using curlaway, and then they show the results after using curlaway AND flat ironing. if that's the case, then there's no point in using curlaway, cause i can get those results using a flat iron alone.

This is a good point that you bring up. I thought about that as well when I was looking at the before/after pics. The claims they were making seemed too good to be true.

I think the idea is less heat is better. I also think they said they flatironed on low (or meduim) heat. From personal experience can I say it does make hair straighten easier. It's not a miracle product, but in my opinion it does what it says (just make sure you read the fine print).

It does looks a bit fishy  and I never heard of it until today and on top of that there are 2 threads on it one day so I got to think about the she-who-shall-not-be-named indicent we went thru a couple of weeks ago.

But I'm glad someone I can trust already tried it (Sareca). My niece has 3B hair and I'm sure this will help my sister out if the product is legit!
