press, relax or wrap...which shows the length to full capacity and how much difference? For example...if I stretch my hair lightly, it is touching my bra strap, pulling down brings me past the top of it. <When wrapped) Now if were to press it after wrapping it, would it appear longer? If it were relaxed, would it appear even longer than pressed hair? WouldI find that it was actually to the bottom of the bra strap or half way in between or shorter? See what I mean? I am trying to determine how long it actually is without doing the processes. Sometimes it appears longer and sometimes shorter but that depends on whether I have been using the heating cap (even more shrinkage, conditioner washes, or shampoos, just pinning it up in a semi bun or wrapping. when I do not stretch it out for a period of time it just shrinks shorter and shorter, so it is hard for me to stay on point. I need to have a true reference point to say "Mahalialee you have worked really hard and you have actually accumulated this much! Oh by the way I am 5ft. 2 and slender, but long waisted. Has anyone tested this out already and what did you find? Now if I can figure that it is longer than I think, I will keep on doing what I am doing knowing that my goal is getting closer even if it doesn't seem like it. I do not have any breakage on the ends or dry ends. Bonjour

I think pressed hair probably shows the most length.

Here's my logic...when I am 9 weeks post touch up (like now) I get as much shrinkage at my roots as any natural. As a relaxed head, the closest I come to showing all of my length is when I get a dominican blowout, because both the roots and length are perfectly straight and I get to see every inch of it. In my view, the closet thing to a dom. blowout on relaxed hair is hard pressed natural hair, because the hair is straightened right at the roots and you get to see all the length that way.

With just a relaxer, once you get a few weeks new growth you can get up to and inch or more of shrinkage. I noticed the difference when I recently took some pics (yesterday) and compared them to the ones I took in January when I got a blowout. I had just washed, set and wrapped and my hair is noticably poofier and it looks shorter. If I were in NY and had gotten my normal blowout, those same pics would have displayed an inch or more of extra length because my roots would also be straight....so no shirinkage.

So I say pressed hair would reveal the most length on natural hair.

I hope I understand your question.

My mother kept her hair short when she was relaxed and she went natural and kept it in a twa (1.5 inch) when she pressed her hair it looked about 2.5 inches. When she relaxed again, while I wasn't there to see it she said that she had a lot more hair than she thought 4-5 inches. So yes the hair relaxed would appear longer than pressed hair. Is that what your asking?
