Hey ladies.. real quick.. i wash my hair, i moisturize it with some leave-in and add oil to my ends, sometimes ill use pink lotion oil moisture and braid it up after. Im texturized with miss jessie's 4a/b.

When my hair is fully dry and i take my braids out, my hair feels crunchy:wallbash:, and stiff. I want to know what you ladies do to combat this problem if you've ever experienced it.. Im in california and we usually have majority warm to hot sunny days...

i always wanted to say TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION YOUR CLIMATE IN YOUR AREA.. IT CAN AND DOES EFFECT THE HEALTH OF YOUR HAIR.. anyone that has my type of climate (warm to hot sunny conditions) please reply and help a sista out:nono:. I aslo leave the forn open to those who dont. Thanks

Im 4a...but I think you should use different products. Pink lotion is not moisturizing at all and probably have a boat load of silicones.
What other products to you have leaving around.

maybe you need to moisturize even more..i really slather on my elasta QP to get my ends nice and soft..i think just a leave in and some oils to seal isnt enuff for some...like me..i have to do more for my ends...

I live in Memphis, which is hot and dry for most of the summer.

How often are you DC'ing? The ends are the most sensitive areas, and if your hair isn't fully moisturized, your ends are going to be crying foul, first. What leave-in are you using? Pink Oil is not a moisturizer, despite what it says on the bottle. I'd - well, I wouldn't use it and expect my hair to improve in any way, shape, or form... it might be making the problem worse if it has a lot of silicones, and they are blocking moisture from your still thirsty strands.

Oh no put down that pink moisturizer! That stuff is garbage!

Also what moisturizer and leave in are you using?

pink lotion, olive oil, sweet almond oil, vatika oil, shea butter leave in, doo gro medicated hair vitalizer(grease).. can you ladies out there tell me what im doing wrong!!! please suggestions

I live in hot and humid Oklahoma. My daughter is natural 4a with dry hair and super dry ends.

Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 Miracle Worker really is just that: A miracle worker! It does wonders for my whole household. With textures ranging from relaxed 4ab to natural 4a, 3c to 4z. It keeps ALL of our hair soft, supple and moisturized :yep:

Throw out the pink lotion and deep condition! How often do you use heat? Have you tried baggying?

Here are the ingredients for the pink oil:

Ingredients: Deionized Water, Mineral Oil, Lanolin, Beeswax, Petrolatum Sodium Benzoate, Sorbitan Oleate, Ethylhexyl Dimethyl PABA, Methylparaben, Propylparabean, Imidazolidine Urea, Fragrance, Red 33

I believe that most of the ladies are trying to tell you that this product may be the culprit because it has the potential to block out moisture and cause dryness over time.

HTH

Oils make my ends crunchy. So does using too many products. (My hair is not 4b, but I just wanted to respond because for the longest time, I didn't realize what was causing my dry, crunchy hair.)

More moisture, more moisture. My ends look horridly dry until I moisturize then use a leave in which is needed morning and night..then I seal with an oil. I do not cut too often as I find the ends just do the same again, no splits but dry.

Hawaiian Silky is very similar to S Curl so methinks you need something like that. For me, the less the number of products I use, the softer my hair is. Do you baggy?
