Cruise ship weddings

FH and I are thinking about going this route, I was curious if any of you ladies had any experience with planning one. TIA!

From what I read, you have to be married before you leave seaside. You may can do a wedding for "show" while you are crusing.

I went to carnival's site and I was correct. You have to be married while in port, you can have the celebration while crusing. I would just get married before I left my hometown, that's just me though.

Shipboard weddings can be performed while in the following
ports-of-call:

Barbados
Jacksonville
New York
Baltimore
Key West
Ocho Rios
Catalina Island
Los Angeles
Pt. Canaveral
Charleston
Maui
San Diego
Ft.Lauderdale
Miami
San Juan
Galveston
Montego Bay
Seattle
Grand Cayman
Nassau±
St.Thomas
Honolulu
New Orleans
Tampa

I think it is pretty much the same for all cruise lines. Check into if you get your license at one location, can you use it to be married at another location. I know in PA, you can get a wedding license in one county and get married anywhere in PA.

The Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony is symbolic in nature and has no legal nor binding effect. Couples with different last names are required to furnish proof of marriage. Arrangements for the time and location of the ceremony will be made onboard with the Group's Coordinator. We will be unable to grant requests to perform the ceremony on embarkation days or formal nights. Should a circumstance arise whereby the Ship’s Captain is unable to perform the ceremony, or the time and location of the ceremony must be changed, Carnival will either reschedule the Ceremony or it shall be conducted by another level of management at the sole discretion of Carnival. Carnival shall have no liability for any compensation or other damages to the wedding couple or any of their guests due to any change.
