Hey there again! I have another question and I apologize if it has already been addressed--I couldn't find a thread anywhere. Basically, I find that the crown of my head going on down gets VERY dry. It almost seems as if the outer layer of my hair is moisturized and fine, then when I run my fingers through the middle, it's like a desert begging for rain! I don't know how to fix this or even why it happens. When I wash and condition, I try to apply it all over. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening? Any answers are appreciated. Thanks in advance! :yep:

Its common. I think most people have dense, course hair in the crown area. Just make sure you moisturize well.

My crown is dryer and coarser. It's also prone to breakage if I don't baby it with extra moisture and cond.

ETA: the only thing that helps me is Actually focusing on that area more. In the past I would just run cond. through my hair, concentrating on the ends. Now when I cond. I soak that area, same thing with oil also. This area tends to itch If I don't do this.

I make sure I slather on the conditioner extra thick in this area. Down to the roots. It has helped with the dryness, but I can't do anything to change the texture.

My crown is a completely different species than the rest of my head. It's crazy. Very thick and coarse. It even grows faster than the rest of my hair. I moisturize it daily with Seyani Butter and that keeps it soft.

I have the same problem, but I also have a lot of breakage in that area due to not taking care of my hair when I relaxed. Any more suggestions would be great.

My hair at the crown is coarser, drier, and more fragile. I put more moisturizer on this sections and make sure it is well moisturized, I take extra care when detangling this sections, and I never sleep with my hair loose because I suffer damage from sleeping on my back and rubbing this area around when I do. Henna has helped with the coarseness and moisture retention.

Thank you ladies for all the wonderful ideas! I think I'm going to try and implement a lot of the techniques you guys gave and see which helps. Nice to know I'm not alone though, haha!
