Hi Pink
I really like Kera Care's Creme Hairdress and it does not contain protein. It is very softening and is about $9.40 at Dillard's Salons. Additionally, I made a thread about a week ago "What's your favorite creme hairdress?" in which a lot of products are listed. I'm sure that at least a few of them don't contain protein. Hope you find one that works well.

Mizani Rose H2O doesn't have protein either but I think the Kera Care Conditioning Creme Hairdress does a better job at softening and relieving dryness. I have found Mizani at JC Penney Salons and Trade Secret.
