Hello all,

I'm a long-time lurker but a new LHCF poster...been a natural pressed lady for about 5 years now. Recently decided to transition to wearing natural styles so I can exercise more frequently and save money. Can you ladies offer any suggestions for a great shampoo? Thanks!!!!

Welcome to posting land :) I use Dr.Bronners Castille soap (diluted) or Giovanni Smooth as Silk shampoo--sulfate free and organic --- or if you are lucky to find the old Cream of Nature Shampoo (green label) that is also sulfate free, creamy and lathers well without stripping your hair. I know more ladies will come in.

Well I dunno about creamy but my staple shampoo is Trader Joe's NourishSpa it has no artificial dyes, no harsh sulfates, it has a delicious fruity citrus smell, its organic, you can identify every ingredient its either herbs or fruit extracts:lick: it lathers so you still get the shampoo experience and cleans thoroughly without stripping. The conditioner....one of the best I've used in my life......thick creamy yummy smelling leaves your hair feeling like butter.

I'm married to NourishSpa:yep:

I used Kenra Platinum for Color Treated Hair (Fine/Thin) and boy did I get good results from that shampoo.

Co-signing! And they're both about $3 a bottle.

Aveda Damage Remedy or Dry Remedy shampoo. Every shampoo is a lovely pampering experience - no stripping feeling whatsoever.

Organix Coconut Milk, Vanilla Silk, or Shea Butter Shampoo :lick:

Organix shampoos contain sulfates:look:

It says it right there when you read the back label. It contains Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate and its listed as the second ingredient, meaning that it has more of that ingredient then any other ingredient that follows. Here's an associated content product review that breaks it down.

I've always seen the Organix line in the Pharmacy and it definitely smells delicious....the ingredients however, are not as delicious.
