Could you still retain your growth with "wrapping" your hair?

If you moisturize your ends before wrapping it, will it be a problem?

Some say its too much manipulation but i hate twisting my hair before bed because i like a "straight" do in the morning.

I am relaxed.

I remember when I was growing up, the belief was that wrapping was how you achieved "long" shoulder length hair (hey, that was long to us back then ). I always assumed it was because you were caring for your ends.

Interested in hearing more responses!

I've never heard that wrapping is bad for hair growth. I guess you are manipulating the hair, but you're protecting the strands from friction while you sleep, so I'd think it would all even out. It will be interested to hear what the relaxed experts have to say

Although I love being able to maintain my straight hairstyles with wrapping, my scalp does not! I gets sore... Really sore! I've always wrapped my hair clockwise instead of switching it up... That was definitely a no no. I also think wrapping is the reason one side of my hair is way less dense than the other side. My crown has suffered as well.

Have you ever though about cross-wrapping? That doesn't work for me either (dents) but, I know others have had success with it.
