Is it impossible ?

Im really trying to reduce the heat applied to my hair but every person who ever does or tries to do my hair starts of the conversation with " lord God look pun this head of hair it to tick mi afi blow dry it "

I really dont know what to do ..do i leave my hair in extra long to avoid the use of heat or do i op for other styles where heat is not needed.

Are there any othe naturals that have experinced this problem and if so how did you over come it ?

Thanks *

I always cornrow my hair without a blowdryer. I just make sure I've used a good leave in, or sometimes I put some shea butter on and braid away! It's easier for me to do it while my hair is wet, since there's no way in the world i can get a comb thru when dry

thanks and I know what you mean its so versatile when wet but when dry its just to unmanageable

Maybe airdrying in big plaits or twists after detangling will help. Then, when they are dry, you should be able to comb through and braid with ease.

If you go to someone who does natural hair and not just a "braider" then they will most likely do your hair damp because it actually makes it easier for you and them (easier to comb). Unfortunately most braiders like to do it on blown out hair, but beleive me your hair will be healthier if you can find someone that will do it on damp hair.

Thanks mskenesha and blaxalrose

I will definately think about requesting this when i next go to the hairdressers .Im thinkin about doing a strong protein treatment before i go college in september so do you think that the hairdresser will be able to do it damp after the teatment

The real problem with me is that the people tht usually do my hair are family members or close friends

ITA!
The night before cornrowing I wash, condition, moisturize and plait my hair in huge twists. I let them dry overnight when I sleep. The next morning, I untwist my dry hair and use my Jilbere (JBEG03) brush to brush each section. Sometimes I have to use a little extra moisturizer the next morning before I brush my hair.

Your hair is not unmanageable, It just takes a little practice to learn how to deal with your own natural hair in it's dry state.

My hair is very easy to do when it’s dry as long as it has been detangled first I’m good to go.

I agree that it's not unmanageable, It's just way easier for me to handle when damp. I still need more practice on dry hair...it scares me

I don't know.

I'm 9 weeks post touch up and I have regrowth from hell.

My cousin cornrowed it today and it hurt like hell

still hurts now actually (i'll post pics later)

I'm thinking blow drying would have been better.
