At least not with conditioners anyway. I find that any conditioner that I have used thus far for my DCs has been NOTHING to write home about. As a matter of fact, I have started using just oils as my DC because I noticed that whne I do, my hair is incredibly soft! Like I wanna play in it soft but I guess that I have been indoctrinated that I need a conditioner.

I want a dc that is CG friendly n I tried AOHRS... not impressed at all. I might just stick to my oils .. so far so good

Remember that only Coconut Oil and Olive oil moisturise the hair, the rest just seal in what moisture you already have; so you may end up not getting enough moisture (unless you are doing something else too) :)

Maybe you may need to add oils to your dc to make them work or combining conditioners together.

DC do more than add moisture to your hair they help you fight the normal elements of heat use and normal wear and tear as well as helping to keep your hair strong, basically food for your hair. I'd not ex them off completely use one as suggested with a combination of oil. I am a DC addict :) Every week I deep condition. Maybe adding PC to your DC and some steamer action will give your DC a boost :).

ok hmmmm. if you do i would say stick to coconut, avocado and evoo. you can try pre pooing with butters mixed with oils and honey and then after you do a gentle shampoo all you need is a quick rinse out conditioner.

Wow, that's cool if it works for you. I simply must DC every week otherwise the difference in the quality of my hair is very noticeable.

I always do that... it works but its just because i did add the oils in. So i don't feel like the conditioner does anything

See i didn't know that but i was only using these 2 when i DC anyway...lol. I don't really use any other oils. I might add Jojoba Oil in my regimen though

Whatever works for you, girl !

I personally can not go more than 2 weeks with a DC, but that just goes to show different everyone's hair is.

I tried that too... lol. I love PC but im not satisfied with my DC. I have a steamer and every time i DC i steam but like i said, i think its the DC itself that im not satisfied with. I have added oil, i have added PC, i have added PC and Oil(olive and coconut) to the DC and thats the only things that make a difference idk.

Idk my hair acts like a Diva.. nothing is eva good enough and it wants what it wants... no matter how much money gotta come outta my pocket.....

You have to do what works for you. But Im curious, what conditoners have you tired?
AHORS, Elasta QB, and This Tea Tree DC by Curls.biz ... That last 1 was just awful. The only DC that i can honestly say worked for my hair was my own personal one that i made with Pure Unrefined Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and Olive oil. That was the only 1 i really loved. It SAVED my hair in the winter. I might just go back to that...

EVOO doesn't moisturize :perplexed coconut and avocado, yes. At least, to MY knowledge.

I know a few people who don't DC regularly....they just cowash a few times a week. In the summer, I don't like to DC because my conditioners always work better with heat and there is NO WAY I'll sit under the dryer when it's 800 degrees outside.

You know what's best for your hair.

Personally I dont think you should give up the search. My hair hated Elasta DPR-11, I think you are referring to Curl Ecstacy Hair Tea by Curls...I personally havent tried it, but I remember the reviews on Curlmart being mediocre. The first one Im not sure of...did you mean AOHSR? If so...it too has been a hit or miss for alot of folks. It takes time to find staple products and for some it takes a long time. No one thing will work for everyone, but there are sooooooo many good moisturizing conditioners out there. I think you should continue looking :yep:

:amen: @Bolded.

I think I'd either go into Hysterics, Shock, or Paralysis  if I Could Not Deep Condition!:lovedrool:
LMAO!!!!

@mimi0410 i am sure there are but i really want something that is CG friendly seeing as though i use a leave in with cones in it already. I know my hair can't take cones on top of cones....

I too agree

Add coconut oil to your deep conditioner and maybe that's what your hair needs. If the AOHR didn't work for you then move on to something else. I love that DC, others could care less about it. Maybe you need something more moisturizing. If you don't want to buy anything online I would recommend the Yes to Carrots Hair Mask and Pantene's Relaxed & Natural mask.

I think DCing with penetrating oils is awesome and I do it weekly! No "deep" conditioners my way! I've only tried coconut oil and evoo but I will be adding avocado oil if I get a job one day! lol

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that FlowerHair deep conditions. Maybe if your hair is well conditioned (with a rinse-out), you leave some in, and you seal the moisture in properly, than deep conditioning wouldn't be necessary. I won't be testing my theory though, because deep conditioning is so relaxing, and I look forward to it every week.
