The final result looks like she used flexi rods. In the video the curls didn't wrap tightly around the rollers, it was pretty loose. I don't think it would make afro-textured hair straight/smooth enough. The end result would probably be very frizzy hair.

"would not recommend these curlers, as they have a'sticky velcro-like' surface, it catches your hair in the wrong place and it's very difficult to tease out the hair; it causes your hair to become matted, the pins to hold the curler in place do not do so very well, just as well they didn't cost too much.
