Conditioner Application

I use my hands and comb it thru with a very wide tooth comb... not sure if this is the best but it works for me.
:ohwell:

I section my hair into four sections and then apply conditioner to each section starting from the ends to the roots. Afterwards, I apply extra conditioner to my crown since that is my "problem" area. I then apply a little more conditioner on my entire head paying special attention to the ends.

I condition in four sections and I use an applicator brush (got that tip from another LHCF member- I think it was SouthernTease[?]:ohwell:) to apply to the roots, then apply with my hand to the shaft and the ends, paying special attention to put extra condish on ends.

I am thinking about getting an applicator brush because I usually end up short-changing the back of my head :ohwell:

The brush has really helped me get to the new growth and I think it helps me to save on condish b/c I seem to apply more effectively.

I put hair back and then apply to the hairline and nape. Then I part down the middle and apply at the crown and down the shaft. Lastly I apply to the ends.

I part my hair into to sections to make sure I don't miss anything. I always apply extra to my ends and my nape (trouble). My hair is in much better condition all over since I started doing this. I never really used to pay attention to it before. I have the Board to thank for that.

Yup this is what I do too.

How do you ladies apply your conditoner to get the best results?

For dc tx, I first apply coconut oil or some other oil to my hair while it's dry. I put a cap on it for about 20 min. Then I will apply my dc mix and let that sit for atleast 20min to several hours. I find that my hair is much softer and detangles a lot easier afterward. Or I will mix the oil with my dc mix and apply to dry hair. I love the results. For me it's not about the application, but about the ingrediants in the condish itself. I am a natural, that no poo's 90% of the time. This method alone has helped the overall condition of my hair.

I part my hair down the middle w/ my fingers and apply to the middle first. Then I do mini parts where ever it's needed. Then I pull my hair back into, coat the ends and finally the front of my hair.

Well depends, if my hair is out (ie no braids cornrows weaves etc) I just put in the palm of my hand and massage section by section concentrating on the ends. In weaves etc put in applicator bottle put a bit of water to make runny and aim for hair close to my scalp and where the ends of my hair is. Works great!

I get the hairline, temples, and nape first, then I part my hair in four sections and make sure I get the roots, especially the crown of my head. Then I apply to the shaft and ends, paying extra attention to my ends. I don't comb it through (I lose a lot of hair and I don't see a difference when I do).

I do it this way... I focus on the line of difference (i'm transitioning) and ends. Using the brush is a lot neater and more effective then using your hands. IMO. After that I use a plastic applicator caps & hot towel to do a steam towel treatment... basically sit under the dryer for 30-45 mins in 10-15 min intervals. Got most of this from Lisa Akbari's book.

Usually, I just apply it all over my hair using my hands, paying extra attention to the ends. I usually use about 1/2 jar of Lustrasilk cholesterol doing this.

I used to do it in sections like mentioned previously. I may revisit that.

For deep conditioning, I towel-blot my hair to get as much excess water out as possible. Then I section out my nape (I'm on a personal focus challenge for my nape till Jan) and then apply conditioner, starting at the ends and working up 3/4 of the length of the hair. Then I continue sectioning the hair till I get to the front. After that I add more conditioner to the length of the hair, making sure I didn't miss a spot, and to add more to any extra dry areas (like my crown). I also massage a little bit into the scalp if it feels dry.

For regular conditioning, I just apply the conditioner in 4 sections, focusing on the ends.

I section my hair and apply from root to tip, then I apply extra conditioner to my nape and edges and length.
