Condition then Shampoo?

I read somewhere that if you have fine hair and want to keep the body that you can deep condition first and then shampoo. Is this a myth? Would the shampoo wash away the conditioner?

I usually deep condiotion my hair first as a pre-shampoo treatment. I usually mix my fav conditioner ( right now it is anything by Alter Ego-in particular the garlic conditoner) with some oils, like EVOO or pure garlic oil and sit under the heating cap or jut a plastic cap for a while and then shampoo. Yes the conditioner washes away but you are still left with very soft and well conditioned hair. Depending on the state of my hair (as some poos are harsher than others) I still follow up with another condiontioner but something lighter. Hope that helps!

I also condition first. Ill apply the conditioner to my ends mostly and then through the length of my hair before I actually even wet my hair. I let it sit and then I shampoo. I think it acts a protective coating for my ends so that the shampoo wont be too harsh for the length of my hair.
I also follow up with a deep conditioner (or TWO!).

my hair isnt fine, but i condition (w/ a cheap conditioner like Suave) before i wash my hair, then i deep condition after that.
