Complications from using herbal products on scalp?

It seems that when I massage Hot 6 Oil in my scalp, I notice the next day or so, I may get a headache. This isn't all the time, but it has happened enough for me to take notice. Could it be the herbs in it that is doing this, or maybe my imagination?

Has anyone else had any health type complications from using herbal oils on their scalp?

I used a little peppermint once...and my scalp was sore until I washed it out! just a drop....diluted in some olive oil... I was amazed!
