I use this! Yes, it does run about $45. I'm on no/low-poo so I find it's good for preventing/removing buildup on my scalp. It also stimmulates and creates a wonderful tingly sensation. I recieved a scalp massage with it when I went to get my hair done by Anthony Dickey and bought a bottle after having the treatment.

I don't use it for growth so I can't say that I have. I only use it once a week to every two weeks so I'm not sure if that's often enough to jigger my growth rate.
