Do those help thicken the hair as well? I don't mean products that have it listed as the elevendy billionth ingredient lol, I'm talking products like BB Castor Oil and Aloe hair lotion or leave-in sprays that have it as the 2nd or 3rd ingredient.

I'm not sure about this. I just use 100%castor oil and add other oils. This way I have control of the mix. I only use this for my edges and nape. If I use another product that contains castor oil that's just a plus for me.

I would go get 100% castor oil but I'm already finding too many staples that I have to buy off the internet and I like the convenience of just walking into the BX (Yea im that lazy lol) and picking up what my hair likes.

You should be able to find castor oil at the BX. Look in the baby section or laxative section. Castor oil is often used a child laxative. I buy my castor oil from Walmart in the laxative section.

What products actually have castor oil as an ingredient? And i have used both the laxative castor oil and the castor oil from the health food store. I did notice a difference in my hair. My hair was much softer with the "natural" one. I have the now brand. I am going to try the jmco when I use this bottle up.

BB Castor oil has thickened my hair. I've noticed because I under-processed in July. My hair has WITHOUT A DOUBT regained thickness. I plan on repurchasing this product. 100% castor oil is too heavy for my hair. I had to even add water to the bb.

Just what I was looking for! This was my staple moisturizer when I first found hair boards so why I strayed away from it for the past few years...idk, but I'm back to it and will never part with it again. All I need is a liquid leave in and BB Castor Oil, no need to seal or any of that when I wear my hair out.

Another question for you ladies: A lot of leave-ins have PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil in them. Obviously it is not the same as the regular stuff, but does it have the same effects or is it weaker than castor oil?

Allways products have a cator oil pomade. Ir's def in there, you can smell it. Laxative grade stuff will work well if you don't want something like Allways (trad. grease).

I was wondering if anyone was gonna mention BB Oil Moisturizer. This is a staple in my rotation. It has certainly thickened my hair too. Usually when I buy this at Sally's or even if I order it online....I purchase 2 and 3 at a time. That's how much I love an use this stuff. Its the bestest of the bestest...LOL!! :lachen:

I hope my hair has the same thickness success with BB as you 2. I'm having problems with my edges and right before I bumped this up I sprayed them with Aussie Hair Insurance and then moisturized with the BB. Of all the raves, this is the first I have heard of it thickening up folk's hair, I'm glad I asked!!

Bumping because my hair is getting a little better but I'm now thinking of babying my problem areas with BB Mayonnaise and Honey...castor oil is the 2nd ingredient.

When you guys talk "thickening", do you mean the strands themselves (don't think this is possible) or do you mean the density?

Same here. You can buy a small bottle of Castor oil at Walgreen's for $5 bucks. Just add it to your conditioners.
