For the ladies who have natural hair, what are the comments you receive as it grows longer. My hair is growing and I rarely wear it down anymore. I think it will generate too much attention. Big fros looks like hair porn... so only at home, for a little while.;) Jeve

My naps aren't that long yet, but this is a great question! I know whenever I see a woman wearing her long hair natural it seems to take my focus. I'm usually in awe. I hope some longer naps chime in. :p

comments Ive gotten:
Them: You locing our hair?
me: no.
Them: Oh. What you just playing around then?

This has happened a few days after a dubious twistout. On more than one occasion.

Mine is not long yet.....but u bet when it gets longer i WILL be wearing it out. im proud of my napps:)

That's a great observation and really sums up how I feel about wearing my hair "out". It attracts waaaay too much attention.

My hair is always in box braids twist or weave, I plan to let it out in february ...I will see what will happen:p

Before my fro turned floppy on me :perplexed I'd get the "fight the power" comments and folks calling me "Angela Davis" :lachen:

my hair isnt exactly in a fro... but it is big enough.

i get looks and surprisingly compliments on my hair, even compliments from black men... surprise to me tho

at first i hated my big hair, but now i am starting to appreciate it, even if i can block some views with it :lachen:

My hair isn't long yet, but as it grows, I wear it out more and more, especially since my puffs aren't really puffs anymore, lol. When I wear it up, it's usually HUGE and I don't try to tame it, lol, not even at the office. As far as comments about my natural hair, they are usually positive IF I get them, but I don't think I attract enough attention to make me feel uncomfortable about wearing my hair out.

"Is that your hair", "your hair would be even longer if you got a perm" and "Are you going to loc your hair", "How do you comb it". I think I get so many questions because my hair is thick and people think its fake. Why do people always assume that you have to loc it or relax it as it get longer. I love my naps and actually get quite a few compliments and how to questions.

My hair isn't that long but when I strecth it out you can see a lot more lenght and thats long to some people. They always ask if Im going to loc or relax it. They ask how I do it and also if I have "some kind of chemical in my hair"

Comments I get: "What's up with the big hair"? (I don't know how to answer this), "I like the poodle hair:mad: ", "I like it better straight".

These are negative ones but I do get some positive ones, just can't remember them exzactly. I think the negative ones burn into my brain because they hurt. I think we remember the negative things the best.

When I had a big fro I got nothing but love. The fro is fire and folks WANT to get burned. My 2 year old has always rocked a big fro in L.A. and when we'd hit The Grove, you'd think an A-List star had landed. I keep it plaited mostly since we've relocated. It's a lot longer and tangles so it's easier for me to keep it "bound".

You know they just wish they had big hair. Take it as they're jealous and keep moving.

I haven't worn my natural hair out much cause I'm on these back 2 back challenges but it's usually is all that yours, what happened to your hair? did you cut it?

Monday was wash day for me. After washing and sitting under the dryer with Nexxus Emergencee for 10 minutes, I put a towel on to dry my hair but took it off so I could style it for the next day. How about when I went to the bathroom with hair products in hand, my two brothers step out of their bedrooms at the same time and called me Sideshow Bob? And unsolicited, too. That's the comments I get from them because I don't wear my hair out since I wear a phony pony with a baggy everyday; so no one else sees my hair. I'd been wearing my hair straight for 3 weeks and was dying to wash it to get my "naps" back.

I'm out the Sideshow Bob stage too when I take my cornrows out, and it is killing me to get longer so imy hair will hang down.

:lachen: :lachen: Chica my family nickname was ADD=Angela Davis Disorder or disfunction at any given time. When I told them I put in a mild relaxer they busted up and said "you need to sue the relaxer company cuz you'z still nappy Angela":lachen: Family you gotta love em!

I get loads of positive comments and compliments weather I'm on the West or East Coast. I have been asked if I plan to loc, can I touch it, what do you use on it, how does your hair get like that, is it a weave and I always say hell to the nawl.LOL I love locs and never had a weave but I'm just doing me.
I was born with a bush so I'm accepting it and on the rare occasion I will straighten it for fun.
