Ladies I have declared that this summer will be my year to master the wash n go, but I really need some help. The problems are that I have 3 different textures, my hair is cut in long layers, and it's long. My past experiences have ended up HUGE and strange.:wallbash: The different textures look extrememly different. 3b, 3c, and a small patch of 4 something. (I know it sounds crazy, but I'm serious.:whyme:) Most of my attempts have included gels, mouses, etc that my fellow long, curly haired friends have recommended. I'm thinking that this time I'll try a different approach and go with something more like an oil or pomade (even though I hate oil). I don't mind the shrinkage, but I want it to look nice. It's so hot and humid that my flat ironed look is not working very well, and i know it's gonna get worse.:cry3:

This is my first summer as a full natrual since I was a preteen, and I really need some help. I know there have been many posts about wash n gos, but I'm having a hard time with the search engine today and I need particular instructions about making the 3 textures look ok together. (It seems as if ok is the best that I can get.:( ) Thanks in advance ladies. Im getting desparate enough to try the Pink moisturizer that my mother used on my hair when I was a little girl. Please save me from myself!:ohwell:

Have you tried using 2 strand twists? I usually make 2 2-strand twists and dry with my ionic blow dryer, first drying the twists, then taking them apart and pulling the individual clumps of curls down as I pull them into shape.

That would probably give you a more uniform texture and help with the various lengths.

Thanks for the response. I have mastered the twist-outs and braid-outs. Braid outs definitely look better on me, but they both take forever to dry. I'm looking for an easier way out.:perplexed If one exists.

I'd love to find an easier way out too! As far as oils go, I personally really like coconut oil. My hair is thin and very porous and coconut oil seems to absorb well.

I feel ya on the different textures. My hair is the same way. I usually use BTZ noodle head but since my hair is shoulder length it does cause a lot of shrinkage. So, for my wash n go's lately I've been using Suave con mixed with evoo. Wet my hair, add Suave con/evoo mixture and let it air dry....results are awesome! :D
