Does anyone know if I could use one of the lighter shades to cover my grays and kind of make it like highlights? I was getting my hair highlighted to cover they gray's but it was breaking my hair off:(
TIA

Yes, it would. I only have one grey hair  and it comes out very red when i use the cinnimon colourshines. But it may turn orangish if i did not keep up with my monthly rinsing. (the cinnamon rinse has an orange base) Oh and once my mom used a black rinse on her hair which completely covered her greys, and when she washed her hair, her greys turned green. The greys all over her hair were unnoticeable, but she has a grey patch on her front hairline, and it was noticeablely green! It's because the black rinse had a green base, so the green showed after her first washing. So you might have to do a little mixing of 2 rinses so that you will create a brown base. I read this tip on this site a while ago...

Yes. I use a quarter size amount of Liquid Amber with Coffee Bean. So when it fades, the base isn't too red or an awful green tone. I don't have grays, but when I had highlights many, many moons ago, this is what worked for me. My stylist gave me the tip.

Good Luck OP.

Thanks:) I used a brown and it was waaaayyyy to dark for me. My hair is lighter brown...I will definitely try a mixure of two;)

It will turn your grey hair pink if you use fushia/burgundy tint and it will turn orange on grey if you use cognac. I actually like that effect but I don't have lots of greys.
