I hope you guys can help:spinning: I think I've figured out why my hair is breaking where it is...I will see if I can make this short  The girl who colored my hair used to work for me... she has gone to hairdressing school and the one thing I absolutely trust about her is she will not "trim" my hair if I tell her not to. She's put color in my hair as highlights, for about 8 months now. My hair broke off in the crown area at first and she told to use the Cure, by RUSK. (I'm not sure if it is too much protein) Now, my hair is breaking in the front only..I almost look like I have a mullet:eek: I know it is from the color, but I have so many greys, in the front, of course. Do you think I could use an over the counter color rinse? or should I just leave it alone and concentrate on stopping the breakage???

I would really appreciate any and alll responses:)

You are probably right chica. You know color can sure do some damage after it starts getting old and from too much heat. It happened to me several times but only when I was relaxed bone straight. I found I could wear color with a texturizer or with natural hair w/o major damage because it is always moisturized with a wet moisturizing product.

I love color so that helped in my decision to go natural. I choose color over relaxer. ;) Unfortunately I have witnessed many relaxed women that use heat regularly try color and after say 6 months they have to bc due to damage. :(

With color I would focus on MOISTURE. When I had highlights I used Paul Mitchell Color care shampoo, conditioner and leave in spray (three pack set at Trade Secret) and it kept my hair healthy.

I also avoided too much heat and wearing any type of ponytail that could possibly cause breakage. I wouldn't do a rinse since it probably wont tackle those grey hairs that you are concerned about

Oh snap I forgot to answer the question. I would only put a Sebastion Colored or Clear Cellophane over damaged colored hair. I like cellophane on grey hair if you get the right color it won't be bright.
