Hi Ladies...

Last Monday I put a Jazzing rinse in my hair.

This past Friday I pre poo'd over night and when I removed my plastic cap, I saw that the Miss Key 10 en 1 was darker than normal, meaning that my rinse was stripped/taken out/reduced. I don't know how to properly describe it, but my red isn't that red any more.

Has this happened to any one else before?

I put a blue black rinse in my hair, and the next time I washed my hair, I could already see the brown in my edges coming back in. I did another Blue Black rinse (I also used Jazzings) and I let it sit for 45 minutes this time, then deep conditioned for 15. I have not had any problems so far with that one. A stylist also suggested getting a shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair, however I have yet to find a good one.

I try not to prepoo or cowash for a week or so after applying a rinse. When i do apply the rinse, I always flat iron my hair because (supposedly) the heat from the iron seals the color and makes it last longer.

Thanks ladies!

How many weeks should I wait before I re-apply the rinse? Should I leave it on for 30-45 minutes (the first time I left it on for 20 minutes and sat under the dryer) or for 5-10 minutes, per the bottle's suggestion for touch ups?

I redid my rinse 1 week after doing the first one. I left mine on 45 minutes, to make sure the color had time to set in. I had some dryness but my hair is always dry  Is the color lighter than your original hair color? If so you might want to wait six weeks especially if you use a "lifter". But I did not experience any adverse effects from doing one a week later.

ETA: I also flat ironed my hair after the rinse. Maybe the heat does help.

I seem to do it every six weeks. Right after relaxer, six weeks later. I usually stretch 12 weeks. I sit in the dryer for 20 and then air dry for another 20.
