Color question

I'm thinking of coloring my hair I have a idea of the color and highlights that I wanna get (see album) I'm scared that it would ask to much of hair maintenance. Also I always stretch my relaxer and I'm afraid that it will be ugly with a big demarcation at the roots, because my hair is really dark...

My other option is to only get blond highlights, that way I won't have to worry about any demarcation.

Please check my album and tell me what do you think and any advice would be appreciated.

I'm interested too. I was considering the same thing, but I am concerned about the maintenance, since my hair is black and I want it brown, with some coppery highlights. I think that I will just get some highlights without the color.

The hair in the picture you've selected is pretty.

I think that's a really pretty color, but I think her hair is highlighted and probably done with a streaking cap. IMO, I wouldn't dye your entire head that color, just highlights. The coverage depends on how much hair they pull through the holes and how far apart they space each piece.

As far as more maintenance, YES! Color does require more maintenance and changes in your normal hair-tine, but it's worth it, if you want to keep your hair looking healthy.

well, i think your gonna have to make a little sacrifice. if you want the color, then you'll probably need to relax so that you dont have that demarcation line. thats never cute. even if you get the HL's you'll definately be able to see that line. unless you color the new growth, and you dont want to relax over a color. that = baldness :x

In coloring your hair, is it ture that you have to color the ends first then the roots last?? I had noticed this when I had colored my hair (permanent) and my rots from about 2-3 iches were lighter then the rest of my hair??

Also is it goos to mix semi-permannent colors?

Thanks for all the replies. Based on the advice so far I think I will go with my second option which is only to get highlights with the streaking cap.

Any more advice are welcome
