Color Experts!! - I have a ?

Hi Ladies,

I am getting ready for a trip soon (Trinidad Carnival !! ) and I am going to get some highlights at the top and crown of my hair. I'm only getting a few done since I do use chemicals in the form of texturizers and I don't want to damage my hair TOOOO much. Anyways, I want to know what kind of deep conditioners should I use after the service (since I will bring my own to the salon) ? I feel like I should do a protein to rebuild the hair but will that affect the color? Or should I just do a moisturizing conditioner? Or both? What brands do you reccommend ?? TIA

I usually use Nexxus Keraphix (creamy protein) right after I do my color...(you don't want to use anything "heavy-duty") followed by a good moisturizing conditioner (like Kenra or Nacidit Olive Oil).

If you want to, you can use a heavy duty protein (I like Nexxus Emergencee)about a week before you color, to give your hair extra strength in preparation for the coloring. HTH!

My hairdresser also adds Nexxus' Botanic Oil to my color and stirs the color and oil together then she applies them to my hair (so the color won't be so damaging to my hair. Then she shampoos with Therappe then Botanoil. She then she mixes a concoction of conditioners (all from the Nexxus line) the Humectress, Ensure, KeraPhix, and the Botanoil and sits me under the dryer for a couple of minutes. She calls me her Nexxus Baby. (by the way my hairdresser is white)I hope this helps you!!!!!!!!!!
