Ive been searching the internet for some good coconut oil and cant seem to get any luck. Where are you ladies purchasing yours from. Is pure CO better or will any bottle of CO do?

I get mine from the local health food store. I get pure, virgin coconut oil. It smells yummy. I don't use a specific brand.

I buy the Vitamin Shoppe brand. It's organic unrefined cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil.

I just ordered some from here:
http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/

They have a coconut oil specifically for hair which I ordered already. This time I ordered 1 COCONUT CREAM CONCENTRATE, ORGANIC and got 2 for the price of 1 of GOLD LABEL VIRGIN COCONUT OIL that I use for cooking. Shipping was really quick and the price very reasonable.

I bought mine from the supermarket in a carribean neighborhood. Ramela brand. It doesn't smell "coconutty" but it's still amazing in my hair. It's probably the refined one for just cooking. I'm getting Nutiva once this is finished.

Amazon!!! :yep:

http://www.amazon.com/Nutiva-Organic-Virgin-Coconut-54-Ounce/dp/B000GAT6NG

I just ordered the 54 oz today. The shipping on vitaminshoppe items is only 99 cents.

Thanks for posting this, I just ordered mine. Man that's a good price. I usually use Spectra brand but I'm sure I'll love Nutiva just as much. I was watching "Iron Chef" last night and coconut was the secret ingredient and it was noted on the show how coconut oil is good for the hair as well as delicious.

No problem :)

They also have the good prices and .99 cent shipping on other oils and natural lines like aubrey organics and giovanni :yep:

I find coconut oil to be tasty too, and despite the saturated fat, it has some AMAZING benefits internally. I'm mad I didn't discover it sooner!

Try your local healthfood store. I like the prices at the food co-op, if you have one. You can get a good virgin coconut oil at Walmart in the supplement aisle. It's 10.00 and a nice size jar. Good product...and I've used all types of coconut oils...from several brands from S. India to Thailand. This one doesn't smell. Spectrum is a good one without smell (like the Walmart). I don't find a diff. in the hair...but for ingesting it, I'd go with the one that's not purified.

puritan's pride... the company that sells vitamins. I buy thier coconut oil AND the big jumbo bottle of aloe vera juice from there. I am actually going to make a purchase today :yep:

ETA: :stop: I went to the site to make my purchase, tell me why the prices of most of the stuff is doubled!!!!! I will be moving on to vitaminshoppe with the quickness.

If there is an Indian Market in your area you can pick up coconut oil at a decent price.

I've seen the one in the indian market they have tubs of coconut and palm oil but im not sure if its refined or not cause it does not say on the tub, is it any good? Ive been eyeing it cause its cheaper than the coconut oil I buy at the moment.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. Maybe if I had more time on my hands I would do this... as it stands I have way too much on my plate to be doing all of that... but good on you for making your own!
